
The 75th Independence Commemoration Festival was proudly celebrated on 02.04.2023 at Nikaveratiya Divisional Secretariat with the participation of Assistant Divisional Secretary Mr. Priyantha Sri Wickramasinghe and other staff officers and office staff.









The inauguration of the new year 2023 was celebrated in a grand manner under the leadership of Nikaveratiya Divisional Secretary Mrs. Renuka P. Wijerupa and with the participation of Assistant Divisional Secretary Mr. Priyantha Sri Wickramasinghe and other staff officers and the entire staff.





The Regional Literary Arts Festival jointly organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Nikaveratiya Divisional Secretariat was held at this office on 27.09.2022 under the leadership of Nikaveratiya Divisional Secretary Mrs. Renuka P. Wijerupa.
It was with the participation of school students and artists of Nikaveratiya Divisional Secretariat Division.
Prizes and certificates were awarded to school students and artists who won local literary competitions.
The main literary lecture titled "Urumaya Rakimu" was conducted by artists led by artist Jagath Kumara Jayasinghe, who plays the role of the lion in the present Sinhabahu drama, with features from Nurthi, Nadagam, Kolam, Shanthikarma and Sarala Gi.




Nikaweratiya Divisional Secretariat and Small Business Development Division jointly organized the SED sale market held at the Divisional Secretariat office premises. Nikaveratiya Divisional Secretary Renuka P. This program was organized as per the advice of Mrs. Wijerupa and 15 small scale businessmen of the division were given the opportunity to sell their products.
A special discussion was organized on 25.05.2022 at the auditorium of the Nikaweratiya Divisional Secretariat to find a solution to the shortage of drugs and surgical equipment at the Nikaweratiya Base Hospital. The discussion was chaired by Nikaweratiya Divisional Secretary Renuka P. Wijerupa and attended by Nikaweratiya Base Hospital Medical Superintendent Pamil on the instructions of former Divisional Secretary and current Additional District Secretary Ruwan Jayasundara.
Representatives of Voluntary Societies and Organizations of the Nikaweratiya Divisional Secretariat Division were involved in this discussion and they agreed to make the maximum possible contribution.
The Divisional Secretary said that there is a shortage of essential medicines at the Nikaweratiya Base Hospital at present and the lives of patients are at high risk and the help of donors is still sought.
