



240,000 juveniles were released into the ponds and Magalle Reservoir in the Nikaweratiya Divisional Secretariat Division today with the assistance of the National Aquaculture Development Authority. The release of juveniles into selected ponds in the Kirindigalla area in Nikaweratiya commenced with the participation of Nikaweratiya Divisional Secretary JMIRK Jayasundara and the release of juveniles into the Magalle Reservoir with the participation of the Political Authority and Assistant Divisional Secretary Priyantha Sri Wickramasinghe. This program was organized under the patronage of Mr. Upali Ranasinghe, Aquaculture Extension Officer, National Aquaculture Development Authority.




The last program of the series of National Reconciliation Programs organized by the Nikaweratiya Divisional Secretariat was held at the Nikaweratiya Divisional Secretariat on 20.12.12.
Field Officers of the Office participated today in this program which was conducted by the National Unity and Reconciliation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice under the guidance of the Divisional Secretary JMIRK Jayasundara and with the guidance of the Assistant Divisional Secretary Priyantha Sri Wickramasinghe.
Mr. Jayantha Herath, Multipurpose Development Officer and Mr. Surath Amarasinghe, Reconciliation Officer contributed resources for this purpose.
These activities are organized and coordinated by Mr. MABAUS Aloka Bandara, National Integration Coordinator, Ministry of Justice.



In line with the Sustainable Punyagrama Project, an e-Waste and Garbage Disposal Program was held 2021.12.28 covering Kebellewa, Hathigammana and related roads. Coordinated by the Hon. Chairman and Mr. HMG Herath, Development Officer of the Council and the support extended by the two tractors and the laborers was highly appreciated. The relevant community had previously been informed in a pamphlet on how to dispose of garbage with the assistance of the Divisional Officers, and the Sustainable Punyagrama Program is being implemented under the guidance of the Ministry of Buddhasasana.



A special one day workshop on Conciliation as an Alternative to Conflict Resolution was held at the Nikaweratiya Divisional Secretariat 2021.12.28 .Udeni Pushpashantha, Kurunegala District Mediation Training Officer provided the resources for the program which was attended by all the Grama Niladharis and office bearers of the division.There was a careful study of the personality traits that officers should master in direct contact with the community in conflict resolution.




Under the implementation of spiritual programs, the program "Manasa Nivana Buddhist Gee Miyasi" was held on 10.12.2021 at the Sri Punyawardanarama Temple, Kebellawa in the afternoon.
Under the full guidance of Nikaweratiya Divisional Secretary JMIRK Jayasundara under the guidance of Ven. Unuwinne Udithananda Thero, Ven. Resources of the staff including Mr. PBB Herath.
The Nikaweratiya Police was also involved in this and the contribution of all the officers in charge was appreciated.
This program was conducted under the provisions of the Ministry of Buddhasasana and is conducted by Mrs. HM Wimala Herath, Development Officer, Buddhist Affairs, Nikaweratiya Divisional Secretariat and Mrs. NKAM Narasinghe.
